De Ronde Van Oeste PortlandiaA ride in honor of De Ronde Van Vlaanderen
April 5, 2008
Typical spring weather (some rain, some wind, lots of clouds) greeted the intrepid cyclists as they prepared for the second running of the Ronde Van Oeste Portandia (the Tour of West Portland). Slightly longer with a few new climbs, this ride was a test of 18 (or so) of the nastiest, steepest climbs that West Portland has to offer. Billed as "A Penniless, Suffering, Pirate Ride," it was an unsanctioned, unsponsored ride that started in NW Portland and ended with everyone's collapse at the top of Council Crest.
I was able to capture some images at the start and finish of the ride, as well as on the two steepest climbs.
